Sailing School

Assembling this easy whimsical sailboat quilt is as fun as a day at the seaside. Blocks and rows come together without the need to match any seams. Wave blocks are strip pieced for quick assembly. The sailboat blocks use stitch and flip techniques for the boat hull and for the half rectangle sail units. Sail units are intentionally oversized then trimmed down to size for a perfect fit every time. A paper trimming template to pair with a standard quilting ruler is included.

Finished quilt measures 50 1/2" x 67".

Pattern features:

  • clear detailed instructions broken down into easy-to-manage steps

  • detailed piecing diagrams

  • trimming templates for the HRT units

  • pressing directions
